A few weeks ago we decided to order Broadway tickets the week we were going to New York, since Broadway seemed like a brilliant one-in-a-lifetime experience.
And it truly was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, from the very first moment entering the fully carpeted floors and beautifully decorated ceiling, with two curtains covering half of the stage. Looking back at the whole process that led us to Phantom of the Opera, we actually
had a hard time deciding which show we wanted to see, but it ended up being Phantom of the Opera, which is the longest running musical at Broadway, and history officially opened on January 26, 1988. Broadway theatre, or just simply known as Broadway, refers to the theatrical performances. It is presented in the 41 professional theatres, each with 500 or more seats, and is located in the Theater District and Lincoln Center along Broadway, in Midtown Manhattan, New York City.
It isn’t just a coincidence that this show is the longest currently running show on Broadway, we were both completely blown a way by the theater’s decoration, but also the play it self.
The actors were good and their voices even better, they were so good that you got chills almost every time they began opera singing or ballet-danced.
Phantom of the opera plays at The Majestic Theatre, and is only 1,1 mile away from the YMCA Vanderbilt. So we left the Hotel at 6pm, to get out and explore the city, and get some dinner.
We was a bit in a hurry after spending too much time shopping, so we just grabbed a burger and some fries from Shake Shack. Mai had the original Shackburger, and Marie the Shroom Burger(sadly, it wasn’t funny shrooms).
After that we went to the theatre, and since we are brilliant at finding our way in New York, and using the metro, it was easy to get to the theatre (with a little help from a kind stranger with google maps)
